Queensland Yacht Charters are excited to announce their new base located at Urangan Boat Harbour on the Fraser Island Coast at Hervey Bay.
Be enticed with a choice of sailing catamaran or power cruiser to explore the calm waters of this World Heritage listed destination. The Great Sandy Straits are a pristine cruising ground protected by Fraser Island with sandy beaches, creeks to explore, peaceful anchorages and an abundance of Dugong, Turtles and Dolphins.
Queensland Yacht Charters has over 20 years of charter experience and are well known for their professionalism and friendliness which will of course extend to their new base.
Short weekend breaks to week long holidays are most welcome.
The Great Sandy Straits stretch approximately 40 nautical miles from north to south and are protected by World Heritage Listed Fraser Island. You will find a myriad of protected anchorages, sandy beaches, mangrove lined inlets & islands to explore.
Fraser Island is the worlds largest sand island. The island boasts an amazing array of sand beaches and dunes, 1000 year old rainforests growing on sand and crystal clear lakes & creeks. The flora and fauna is abundant & unique to the area. You will find some great walking tracks including the Fraser Island Great Walk.
Direct flights are available daily from Sydney with Jetstar and Virgin Blue and there are connecting flights from Adelaide & Melbourne through Sydney to the Fraser Coast. The airport is 15kms from Hervey Bay. Alternatively, you may wish to drive from Brisbane which is a short distance of 295km.
