QYC are based on the mainland at Abel Point Marina in Airlie Beach. Most of our charters commence from Airlie Beach, although we can arrange to have your vessel bought to you at Hamilton Island if you are landing there.
FLYING
Travelling to the Whitsundays is easiest by plane with direct flights from most eastern capital cities in Australia. Check out VIRGIN BLUE and JETSTAR for their flights into Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) airport, Hamilton Island airport and Mackay airport.

PROSERPINE (WHITSUNDAY COAST) AIRPORT
Transfer from Proserpine airport
Transfers to Airlie Beach take a quick 45 minutes and can be arranged through QYC with the following carriers

HAMILTON ISLAND AIRPORT
Should your flights be arriving to and from Hamilton Island, we can arrange to have your vessel delivered to the island for a start & finish. Alternatively, you may wish to transfer to Airlie Beach or Shute Harbour on the ferries which service the Whitsundays. Cruise Whitsunday offer connections from Hamilton Island airport to Abel Point Marina and the QYC base and Fantasea Ferries offer services from Hamilton Island to Shute Harbour.
VESSEL DELIVERY
If having your boat delivered to Hamilton Island airport, pls contact the Marina office around 11am to see if your boat has arrived and where it is berthed. The resort link bus can take you from the airport (or your accommodation) to the marina office or to the end of the arm where your vessel is berthed (usually F Arm). Courtesy trolleys and wheelbarrows for luggage and provisions are located at the end of each Arm. In the event that you arrive before your vessel, luggage can be stored in the marina office. Your QYC representative will meet you there and assist with your luggage to the boat.
MACKAY AIRPORT
If you are unable to secure flights into Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) airport, then consider Mackay airport just 1.5 hrs drive south of Airlie Beach. Start your holiday with something different! JETSTAR, QANTAS and VIRGIN BLUE fly daily into Mackay Airport. Relax into North Queensland's style with an easy 1.5 hour scenic drive through tropical hills and sugar cane farms to Airlie Beach.
TRANSFERS FROM MACKAY AIRPORT
There are several options for transfers from Mackay Airport to Airlie Beach. You may choose to hire a car one way from Thrifty, Avis or Europcar which gives you the convenience of a car for your shopping in Airlie Beach, visiting places along the way or even having a game of golf at fabulous Laguna Quays Resort. This is ideal if you are arriving the day before your charter starts and are either staying in Airlie Beach accommodation or doing our "Half Price Sleepaboard". It is a 1.5 hour drive to Airlie Beach through rolling sugar cane farms and cattle stations.

DRIVING
Turn off the Bruce Highway after Proserpine for the Whitsundays.

PARKING
Parking is available in the marina although this is not considered to be secured parking. Bookings can be made with the Marina office on arrival. We recommend Whitsunday Airport Secured Parking from $100.00 for 5 nights (which includes valet pickup & delivery of your car or return passenger transfers). Contact our reservations team to make the arrangements on your behalf.
RAIL
Queensland Rail operate all major train services which stop in Proserpine (20 minutes from Airlie Beach). Taxis will meet the train by arrangement. Visit their website at http://www.qr.com.au/
