Proposing – bareboat style!

"Proposing to the love of your life is a tricky thing.  You need to make sure the setting is appropriate for the person and pull all stops to ensure that it all goes to plan.  For my partner and I, the ocean and the natural beauty of our environment holds a special meaning to both of us.  I hadn’t sailed the Whitsundays before so choosing to propose on a bareboat yacht was a simple decision.  I flew to Proserpine ahead to provision the yacht and get everything ready.  My girlfriend would soon be surprised by a package containing a plane ticket, maps and cryptic instructions that ultimately led her to Abel Point Marina and the yacht where I waited on a bent knee. After a beautiful proposal and a few bottles of Champagne to celebrate we spent the night in the marina.  The next morning we headed off for 5 nights darting around the islands, fishing, snorkeling while finding secluded anchorages in beautiful turquoise bays. The team at QYC were amazing as they went that extra mile to help me out with such a special moment.  We are already thinking that the perfect honeymoon just has to be somewhere on a yacht."
