Do I need a licence to sail?

In many parts of the world, you need a boating license, but this is not the case in the Whitsundays. You will however need to have a basic knowledge of sailing and navigating to charter a vessel. While some of the sailing vessels are more suited to experienced sailors, we make sure all guests are given a training session before setting off. This ensures you feel confident and comfortable navigating your vessel.

Where can I go on a Queensland Yacht Charter?

Your yacht charter allows you to travel as far north as Hayman Island and as far south as north Shaw Island, with some vessels surveyed to go as far south as Thomas Island. There is so much to see and do here, and you will be kept busy discovering this region. A yacht charter is truly the best way to see this area, as the islands offer many anchorages and moorings to vessels; it’s easy to hop off your boat and head onshore for a day of exploring.

How many people can travel together on a yacht charter?

We have groups of all sizes join us. Some vessels are cosily suited to 2 travellers, but our more sizeable yachts can comfortably sleep up to 10 visitors.

You can travel with your family and friends of all ages. We like to say there is “something for everyone” in the Whitsundays, but it is undeniably true. With countless water activities, onshore resort amenities, restaurants, shopping, sport options, and so much more, everyone can enjoy a Whitsunday yacht charter, from children to seniors.

What vessels can I choose from?

We take pride in our modern, well-maintained fleet of 25 yachts, which includes a variety of power boats and catamaran styles. Our range of options allows for all budgets. This blog post can help you choose the best vessel to meet your holiday needs.

How long are your yacht charters?

Our yacht charters start at 5 days and up. We find that 5 days is the minimum time needed to get the true sailing experience, and to allow our guests to see a fair bit of the Whitsundays. The majority of our guests join us for holidays of 1 to 2 weeks, but any trip length is available.

What is there to do in the Whitsundays?

Plenty! There are 74 islands to visit and the activities are endless: snorkelling, bushwalking, fishing, diving, swimming, dining, shopping, golf, and natural treatments such as massage, kayaking, jetskiing, and so much more.

What about food?

One of the great benefits of having a chartered yacht is that you have the means to prepare your own meals, if you desire. To make planning meals even easier for you, you can use the services of Whitsunday Provisioning. They will supply you with everything you need for the duration of your voyage, with a variety of options and amounts. You can even get a smaller package if you intend to dine out occasionally.

What is a bareboat charter?

A bareboat charter is a hired vessel that does not have a crew. Essentially, when chartering a bareboat yacht, you are your own skipper, in charge of either a sailing or power vessel. For those who don’t feel comfortable captaining a ship, we also offer guided charters, so you can be in the good hands of an expert sailing crew.
