There’s something about eating outside in the fresh air that makes food taste even more delicious! And where better to enjoy the many fruits of the wonderful Whitsundays than floating around the islands on a Dream Yacht Charter.
Being part of the world’s biggest charter yacht company you could be forgiven for thinking that local flavours might get overlooked, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Your meals on a Dream Yacht Charter cruise are a large part of the experience, with extensive use of fresh local produce and a wide choice of menus, thanks to local business Whitsunday Provisioning.
Established in 1983, Whitsunday Provisioning is passionate about showcasing produce from Whitsunday and surrounding regions’ farms, so you can experience North Queensland produce that is delivered to you as fresh as possible. To ensure quality, the team individually inspects every item of produce when it’s packed so you have the best experience possible; and with a wide range of different packages available catering to all dietary requirements and budgets, there is something for everyone.
Dream Yacht Charter Australia managing director Christophe Vanek is a food-lover and former restaurant owner, and this has filtered down to the menu delivery in his time with the company.
“Food is a very important part of life and we want our guests to enjoy every meal while they are on charter with us,” said Christophe, who was born in France.

“We are very lucky in the Whitsundays to enjoy an abundance of fresh local produce and of course amazing seafood. We work with Whitsunday Provisioning as it ensures a premium experience for all our guests.”
Recently, word got out about Christophe’s passion for cooking – and eating – good food, and he was invited to be part of Whitsunday Mayor Andrew Willcox’s regular online cooking show. Christophe chose to cook up a delicious Tahitian fish dish comprised of good quality, raw tuna marinaded in lemon juice and then tossed with coconut milk and chopped onions, cucumber and tomatoes.
This is exactly the kind of simple, tasty meal you can quickly whip up on your Dream Yacht Charter. If you plan to do your own food shopping prior to your charter, talk to us about menu-planning and the best way to shop for your meals.
Or if you plan to totally indulge yourself and would like everything done for you, talk to us about our crewed charters with a professional skipper and your own personal chef (it’s like being on a floating hotel where you are the only guests!).

Are you ready to charter a boat? No licence required.

No licence is required for a Yacht Charter in the Whitsundays, unlike other locations worldwide. We offer a brief training session before you head out, for either sailing or powered yachts.
