If you’re a lover of sailing, mark your calendars for the upcoming Sydney International Boat Show, held from 30 July to 3 August 2015. Since 1968, the Sydney Boat Show has delighted millions of marine sports enthusiasts, and remains the largest recreational boating exposition in the entirety of the Southern Hemisphere. The event takes place at Cockle Bay Marina in Darling Harbour & at the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island.

What’s Happening at the Boat Show

Each day is action-packed at the show, with countless exhibitions and amazing and informative master classes led by marine experts. Learn about boating history with racing boat collector Dave Pagano, be inspired by live cooking displays from a master chef, and even check out attractive and functional fashions for the on-deck lifestyle. If you’re interested in catching some of Australia’s best fish, don’t miss Tim Simpson’s master classes: one for beginners and one focused on fishing with lures. When you’re done gaining knowledge at the master classes, be sure to watch the thrilling speed racing boat display out on the water and meet the folks behind the wheel. Our Queensland Yacht Charters team will definitely be stopping by the Cruising Helmsman Hour, a daily event led by Australia’s premier cruising magazine, Cruising Helmsman. Here, guest speakers and yachting enthusiasts will converge to talk about great sailing destinations and insider tips and tricks to making your cruising experience extraordinary. The Sydney Boat Show will also include a Boating Safety Zone inside the exhibition hall. Safety on the water should be a top priority for all. This interactive area will educate and inform visitors on how to stay safe at sea and maximise your boating experience.

Of course, the focal point of the show is the boats themselves. Some of the most regal and impressive yachts and private and commercial vessels of all kinds will be on site. With more than 200 exhibitors, boating aficionados know that the Sydney Boat Show is the best place to check out new and exciting vessels. Whether you’re looking to buy a stunning new sailing vessel, a sleek new power boat, or any number of accessories and equipment, you’ll find everything you could want for the nautical life. We can’t wait to share this spectacular vessel with the public before it officially joins our fleet in September.
