Dream Yacht Charter now offers “Monocats”, a monohull with the functionality of a catamaran!
In the sailboat rental market, what has previously been offered to yachtsmen was organized around two types of sailboats – monohulls and catamarans. The result of the vision of a yacht charterer and the know-how of a famous naval architect, this “monocat” targets the urban youth market.
To develop the Jeanneau Sun Loft 47, the shipyard approached its customers – in particular Dream Yacht Charter, the first customer of this model – to propose a boat that meets a demand that was not yet satisfied: allow the people who cannot afford a cabin cruise aboard a catamaran, to do it, thanks to a new type of sailboat !!
In fact, the Jeanneau Sun Loft 47 revolutionizes the development of monohulls, by grouping the sleeping areas in the hull, and on the deck, the cooking and entertaining areas including convertible lounge, sunbathing and dining areas.
The result is quite incredible for a unit of 47 feet: the Jeanneau Sun Loft 47 has indeed 6 double cabins, 4 bathrooms and a skipper cabin with bathroom, which is unique on the market, and similar to what a catamaran offers !!
The entertaining area is just as incredible, with a full beam cockpit (full width (4.95m)), wider than many catamarans, which hosts 2 tables convertible into sunbathing, which can easily accommodate 14 people.
The kitchen is central, with a very large fridge capacity and cooking area … You will appreciate the 350l drinking water tank, with charcoal filter freeing the boat of plastic water bottles.
Contrary to what one might have thought, there is room for everyone on board, and the very secure centre wheel will delight neo-practitioners.
The Jeanneau Sun Loft 47 has a beautiful hull designed by Philippe Briand, a furling mainsail, a genoa on self tailing, with a gennaker in addition. Simple and effective: tested in the Monocat 17 knots of wind, the Jeanneau Sun Loft 47 reached 9 knots, at 60 ° from the wind.
When can you rent? Available from November 2019 in the West Indies in the 5 homeports – Martinique, Virgin Islands, St Martin, Antigua and Grenada – and from April 2020 in Turkey , Croatia and Greece.
