Yacht Charters: Explore the Whitsundays with a Powerboat

Can you hear it? The ocean is calling you, begging you to come out and meet it. The sea air beckons, the sunshine pulls. Your dream holiday is waiting for you here in the Whitsundays. A yacht charter is the perfect way to experience a holiday that blends relaxation, adventure, and luxury. Our fleet of vessels offers spacious comfort plus all the amenities you need.

The Magical Whitsundays

In truth, there is no place quite like the Whitsundays. This chain of tropical delight is comprised of 74 islands, dotted along the tropical coast of Queensland. The standout feature here just might be the brilliant turquoise waters, so clear and inviting that photos of the region don’t even seem real. These aqua hues are paired with the world’s whitest sand at Whitehaven Beach—one of the planet’s most photographed coastlines. And that’s just the beginning.

Incredible fishing opportunities abound across the island, where you’ll be able to catch your dinner if you choose. Jump in for some snorkelling and get up close and personal with the tropical marine life that make their home in the vibrant coral reefs. There are countless prime snorkel spots across the Whitsundays. On land you’ll find ancient caves, hidden inlets, and lush bushland. There’s so much to discover on these unspoilt natural wonders. And after a day of play, put your feet up and enjoy the night sky from your deck.

Sounds pristine doesn’t it? But what deck will you be enjoying the view from? Which vessel should you choose?

Why Choose a Powerboat?

We have a wonderful fleet of monohulls and catamarans here at Queensland Yacht Charters. Both sailing and powerboats are available to suit the skills of all our guests. Experienced sailors may opt for one of our mighty monohull yachts. Others might select a powerboat like the Sundecker 36. Could a powerboat be right for your yachting holiday?

Powered bareboat charters still give you the opportunity to skipper your own vessel—one of the most enjoyable and thrilling parts of the yachting experience. But having a motor can take some of the worries out of the navigation process, particularly for those with little sailing experience. Many guests are simply more comfortable with power boats. If sailing is not your priority, a powerboat may be ideal for your holiday needs.

Our Power Boat Fleet

Should you choose a motorised vessel for your Whitsunday yacht charter, we have several boats in our fleet that will suit your holiday perfectly.

Our Fairway 36, dubbed ‘Miss Saigon,’ is one of our most popular powerboat vessels. She is spacious and stately, often preferred for honeymoons or family vacations. There is abundant deck space both flybridge and aft, offering fantastic views of the surrounding landscape, and room for up to 7 guests to enjoy a holiday together.

For a reliable, pleasant journey in the Whitsundays, you can’t go wrong with the Sundecker 36. She’s been in our fleet since 1987, and is meticulously maintained. One of our most in-demand vessels, the Sundecker 36 has a classic, gleaming interior, 4 berths to hold up to 4 guests, and a comfortable steering station.

Built for the discerning traveller, larger groups may desire the splendour of the Fountaine Pajot Cumberland 46. Launched in 2008, this grand 14m powerboat boasts plenty of extras and can comfortably hold as many as 8 guests in 4 well-appointed cabins. It also has aircon to keep you refreshed. This is the best of the best in luxury yachting. Please note that a boating licence and previous experience are required to skipper this vessel.
